Used Cell Phones: The Benefits Package

It might have come across your mind on what kind of cell phone to buy.  There is a wide range of cell phones to choose from.  The designs are all good and the features are to die for.  You can even select from the all-natural cellular phone turned into Smart phone or you can also go for the tablet phone.  The choices are limitless.

Aside from the design and the brand, you can also make your phone selection through the way these phones are sold.  You can buy a brand new phone which we got accustomed to.  You can also make your purchase by buying a used cell phone instead of a brand new phone.  At the back of your mind, you might be wondering why you need to bother in buying used phones instead of brand new ones.

Little do we know but buying cell phones that have been pre-owned and used by someone else is a great thing to do.  There are a lot of benefits and these benefits are not even clear to a lot of people and it is an important awareness that we have a lot of options and there is no need to stick to buying brand new phones if there is an alternative to new cell phones.

When you buy a used cell phone, it is like a package deal.  You get more from what you pay for.  What some of us have in mind is that used cell phones are already disposable and they no longer have value.  Come to think of it.  We see items in stores that are being sold which are no longer brand new.  We see used clothes and used equipment that are still being sold.  The only way for us to appreciate on what it can do for us is if we look at those things that will benefit us when we buy used cell phones.

Used cell phones are cheaper than brand new phones.  This will help you save money.  Instead of spending so much on cell phone cost, you can just buy an affordable used phone and use your extra money in something more important.  You also won’t feel bad when you decide to sell your used cell phone.  Instead of disposing or throwing your used cell phone, you can recycle it by selling it again.  This is another benefit that you get and give.  You also help save the environment too.  When you lose your phone, you wouldn’t feel bad about it because you did not spend as much as compared to having a cell phone that is brand new.  This is the beauty of having a cell phone that is inexpensive and yet very functional.

It is not an everyday thing that you can have with all these benefits.  Used cell phones will definitely give you all these things without the necessary expenses.  The bottom line here is that having a mobile phone should not be expensive at all and while you are using your phone, you can easily enjoy the benefits it gives you.

Do Cell Phone Types Matter?

The cellular phone market nowadays is huge.  There are more than ten manufacturers of cellular,  phones and there are more than twenty network carriers in the United States alone.  There are also hundreds of thousands of distributors and resellers operating worldwide.  You are also not limited to the handset model available.  You have a lot of options to choose from.

Let us not forget that there are also local markets around the globe.  If you go to China, for example, you do not only see the branded phones that we know such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and a whole lot more.  There are types of cell phones that are being produced by local manufacturers and they are successful at that.  When you go to another country, you might be surprised again because you will see that there are locally produced brands as well.

For a lot of people, the cell phone type that you want to buy does matter a lot.  You do not just get a cell phone from the shelf of the store and proceed immediately to the cashier to pay for your purchase.    If you do online shopping, you don’t just put any cell phone in your cart and that’s it.  Just as we do not just buy any cell phone from a cell phone store, cell phone manufacturers also make their cell phones according to how they perceive their potential customers are.

What you want to have depends on what kind of lifestyle you have or what you need for your cell phone.  If you frequent to parties or attend functions most of the time, you need to have a presentable cell phone that is the latest in the market today.  Go for a smart phone and impress everyone with it.  Go for something sleek and slim because your cell phone needs to come in handy whenever you are in those parties or events.  If what you need is just a cell phone for calls or text, then all you need is a simple phone with these simple features.  If you are into taking pictures, video calls, sending and receiving of pictures, it would be ideal for you to have a cell phone that will work best with the kind of work or things that you need.  If it is not work-related and it is just a lifestyle need, then you might prefer to have a cell phone that is current and touch screen.  If you go for a high end phone, you may also opt for a smart phone.

Do cell phone types matter?  It does seem to matter.  It is kind of hard to imagine having a cell phone that you don’t like at all.  Before making that very important purchase, you have to think about what you need from your cell phone in a larger scale.  The cell phone will be with you for several months up to a year before you decide to dispose it for another one.  If your cell phone is lucky, you might even use it for a couple of years.  Think twice and think hard because cell phone types do matter.

Looking for the Perfect Cell Phone for School? Get a Refurbished Cell Phone!

Being in school means you still have to be connected to your family and the only way to contact your friends is if you have a cell phone too.  It is hard to imagine someone going to school without a cell phone.  It is a necessity and at the same time an accessory too depending on how it should be looked at.

Peer pressure could also be a factor in the kind of cell phone that you need to have.  What do your friends use?  Should you and your friends have the same kind of cell phone or should it be different from each other?  Do you still go for the conventional symbian type of phone or do you and your friends go for Smart phones now?

Wherever you go, it seems everyone is using a Smart phone now.  There are lots of them depending on what brand and what kind of operating system you want to use.  If you go for iPhones, these are readily available in online cell phone shops.  There is also an open operating system called Android which works on different cell phone brands.  Blackberry also has its own operating system while Windows Phone 7 is also fighting in the market of Smart phones too.

Whatever your preference is or your friends’ choice, the market is huge and selection is not limited either.  Everything is at your fingertips.  You just need to make a decision on what you want to have or what your friends are using.  The choices are big and the selection is plenty to choose from.  As a student, you might have issues with the cost but this is something that should not cause any problem.

A potential stumbling block here is the cost of Smart phones.  We all know that cell phones change every now and then.  Smart phones also come and go.  If you have been using an android smart phone and your operating system is Éclair, you are being left behind already because there are more recent versions of this type of operating system.  Changing phones can be costly and not all of these phones could easily be upgraded with the new version of operating system available.  It is also not advisable because you could lose important data if something goes wrong while you are performing the upgrade.

Having the latest version of your operating system or your cell phone does not necessarily have to be costly or expensive.  There are lots of ways on how you can have different phones without spending a huge amount of money.  One good example is buying a refurbished cell phone.  Refurbished cell phones are less expensive than brand new phones but they offer the same quality as the brand new cell phones.

Being a student does not necessarily mean that you could no longer have the best cell phones the world can offer.  It is just a matter of knowing what type of cell phone to purchase and what brand to buy.  Once you have this information, you could bring with you your Smart phone every time you go to school.

The Future of Windows Phone 7 in the World of Smart Phones

When we talk about Smart Phones, two things could come into the minds of most people.  You will either think about Android or iOS.  These are two great operating systems that are behind a Smart phone’s success.  Tagging along its 5th place in the market is Windows Phone 7 with a little market share.

WP7 or Windows Phone 7 was created by Microsoft and we all know that Microsoft is a giant in the world of computers, worthy of entering the Smart phone arena.  It created a solid tie with Nokia to come up with WP7-based handsets and leave behind the mobile phone giant’s symbian-based cell phones.

Right now, Windows Phone 7-based cell phones are in the losing end.  Sales are plummeting below the ground.  Going down by 38% in terms of sales is a big drop in the business world and only miracles can bring it to the top once again.  Microsoft is optimistic that it will regain its losses but critics think otherwise.  If you ask a lot of Smart phone users, the usual response that you will get is that they are by far happy with their Smart phones such as Android and iOS.

The partnership between Nokia and Microsoft is a good move for both companies.  If we look at the business side of the matters, Nokia and Microsoft need each other in order to survive.  Microsoft is still a giant in the computer world and it has earned its reputation for being innovative in the things that it offers.  Nokia, on the other hand, is in a survival mode and has to compete with other phone manufacturers.  If they do not migrate to a different platform, sales will continue to drop and it will come to a point that there might not be anything for Nokia to sell something interesting.

Nokia and Microsoft should also think twice if the large, colorful tiles in the phone’s quick launch screen will serve the discriminating taste of Android and iOS phone users.  If you are not that familiar on how this works, let’s have a run through to see its attractiveness to consumers.  These tiles are live and as long as you are connected to your data services, updates will be continuous.  If a friend in facebook changes his or her profile picture then you get to see it on your phone’s home screen.

Windows Phone 7 also has People Hub which aggregates your friends from the social networks in three screens.  It also has Picture Hub wherein you can view your most recent pictures and new pictures of your friends linked to their social network.  Since this technology comes from Microsoft, it also has an office hub wherein you can easily sync your files such as word documents between your cell phone and your PC.  It also has Zune Player and Xbox Live in addition to the existing features of this phone.

Windows Phone 7 is power packed.  It needs the right packaging for the perfect phone.  It might even need some renaming to avoid confusion.  Windows Phone 7 could still have a future as long as the right marketing strategy is placed and a wider selection of handset just like what Google is doing to its Android market.

Undecided on What Phone to Buy: Refurbished or Brand New?

Most of the time, it comes to a point that we are still undecided on what phone to buy.  This does not only delay on our communication needs but it also presents as stumbling block in making a final decision on what to do with the money you saved or set aside.  This problem gets to be aggravated further when newer phone models are released into the market.

If you are into this kind of dilemma, the best thing to do is to have a checklist.  A checklist allows you to narrow down your options to be able to come up with a buying decision.  It should be complete and should not only involve the features that you like but it should also contain the budget because this will clearly tell you on which phone you will be able to purchase.

Consider also making an online purchase and make this as part of your checklist.  Window shopping the online way is a great move since this gives you flexibility in your window shopping time.  You will be able to spend more time browsing and looking for the type of phone that you want to buy.  You will not feel the rush unlike when you are inside a store.  Another advantage of doing it online is that you get to know the features of the phone by browsing other websites as well.  There are a lot of websites that even offer free shipping within the United States and some of these websites have credit guarantees if you are not satisfied with the phone that you received.

Now that you have identified the brand and with the features that you like, you have come up with model type you are interested in, it is now easier to make a decision on what kind of phone to buy.  The next item in your checklist should include the cost of the unit.  Again, the best way to shop is through the internet and when you look around cell phone shops online, you will discover a lot of things that will make you reconsider over and over again.  When you look for the cost of the cellular phone, don’t just look at the actual cost.  Well, you can do this when you are physically in a store and if the stores are right next to each other where you can literally swoop into each door and make comparisons.  If you are right in front of your computer then look around these websites that offer cell phones for reasonable prices.

There are two kinds of cell phones that you could buy online.  These are refurbished phones and brand new phones.  It is a given fact that brand new phones are expensive and could rip your budget apart.  An alternative that you have is buying refurbished phones.  These types of phones are a lot cheaper but they are just like brand new.  Compare the prices of refurbished phones online and see the difference.  Refurbished phones will make your life easier and more economical without making your wallet empty at all.

Stretching Your Used Cell Phone

Cell phones are sold all over the world.  There is no doubt that this is the world’s most used telecommunication gadget.  It comes in all sizes, brands and design.  The features vary depending on the type and kind of cell phone that you like.  The good thing about cell phones is that there seems to be no restriction at all.  As long as it has the basic features and it works typically of a cell phone then this could be marketed in a specific country.  There are brands that are universally available worldwide.

New cell phones, especially the Smart phones and tablets are way too expensive.   Only those that can afford to buy these types of phones can avail at least one or if you can’t initially afford, your other option is to save some money and when the time comes you could afford the unit already, you will be able to make that purchase.  This was how it was before and for some people, this is how it is until now.

The good thing about cell phones these days is that the way people make purchases is not confined to the usual visit to the store then you make your payment.  Options have risen to the next level by giving you opportunities to purchase cellular phones online.  Another great thing about online purchases is that you don’t have to wonder how the phone looks like in front of you because you already know how it looks like one way or the other.  Because of online cell phone shops, it has given birth to different ways on how you can buy cell phones and what kind of phones you could purchase.  It also provided opportunities to people to buy phones at less expensive prices.

Used cell phones are second hand phones.  These phones might have even reached to the point of having a third user or owner and probably even beyond that making the term “used phones” more appropriate.  Imagine yourself using a phone that you were planning to buy a couple of months back but couldn’t afford because of its price.  Now, it is within your reach already at a more affordable price.

Buying a used cell phone means that you will be able to stretch it out further.  First, buying this type of cell phone allows you to save a lot of money.  You will be able to use it just like what a new cell phone could do.  You can make and receive calls, you can send and receive text messages, you can take pictures and send them.  If you wish to browse the internet, you may do so as long as the phone has that capability.

Stretch your usage and have no worries about losing it.  You bought your phone at an affordable price and if in case you accidentally leave it somewhere or have forgotten where you have kept it, your loss is not as huge as others because the price you have paid for is not as expensive as buying a new cell phone.

Some of us have the need to go out of town.  There could be a number of reasons for doing so.  It could be due to a short vacation or a business trip.  While you are out of town, your safest place to stay and keep your things could be your hotel room.  Your things are secured especially if the room has a safe or if the hotel has a safe where you can keep your things for safekeeping while you are out.

Having this kind of safety is good but it is not 100% guaranteed that all your things will be safe such as your cell phone.  While you are in a different place, you need to eat outside, have your clothes washed and it could be an unavoidable situation wherein you could unintentionally forget your phone.  Imagine sitting on a restaurant and enjoying your food and as you start leaving your table, you could also be leaving your cell phone.

Forgetting a cell phone is one of the things that we don’t want to happen.  All your contacts and all important information are there.  Losing these things is the last thing that anyone would like to experience.  It is nothing that anyone wants to experience.  Just as bad the experience might look, things do not have to be this way.  You can avoid losing all the important information by using a different cell phone while you are on a business trip.

You might probably be wondering right now why undergo the hassle of having a new phone.  The benefits are numerous and not all people are aware of this.  The process is basically very simple.  Leave your original phone at home and you can buy a different phone to be used during your out of town trips.  Synchronizing your data these days is not a problem because of the technology that we have right now.

Another thing that you can consider is the cost.  Having another cell phone could be way out of your budget right now but the cell phone that you will purchase does not necessarily have to be brand new.  There is what you call refurbished phones.  Refurbished cell phones are not brand new cell phones and they are also not used cell phones either.

Refurbished cell phones are classified under sold but unused.  When a cell phone has been discovered to be defective in some ways, you can return it to the manufacturer and have it fixed.  This is again sold in the market but this time, it is going to be sold at a cheaper price.  This is where the cell phone becomes affordable.

When you are out of town, you can stop worrying about your cell phone.  You can take away from your mind about losing anything.  You can have the comfort of having your usual communication with your family, loved ones, friends and people from your business or office.  Even if you lose your refurbish phone, you need not worry about your sleek cell phone you left at home safe and sound.

Do Mobile Networks Sell Unlocked Cell Phones?

Mobile networks or carriers sell their products in order for you to get a subscription or plan.  This could either be in prepaid or postpaid format.  They also customize your usage behavior and will try to match with what they can offer.

The communication products that these telecommunication companies or telcos offer are now considered as needs and each individual will have a hard time going on with his or her daily life without cell phones.  It does not even matter if you are a working professional or a plain home maker because what is seen here is a need to be constantly in contact with someone.

To make these mobile carriers more attractive, they offer cell phones for free or at a much lower cost together with the package that you will avail from them.  Because of the cell phones that they offer, you are usually stuck with a contract.  The only difference between a postpaid line and a prepaid line is that you are not tied up with a long contract but be reminded that the cell phones that they offer together with the package are locked to their network.

Telecommunication providers offer cell phones but these phones will only work with their networks.  Expect it to work only with the network’s SIM and nothing else.  You may use different SIM cards but these SIM cards could only come from one mobile network.  They do not sell mobile phones that will work with different carriers.  Most people nowadays are looking for cell phones that have the unlocked feature.  Being unlocked is not necessarily a default feature of the phone.  It is something that you can get from using that kind of phone.  It is more of a type of cell phone rather than a feature of the mobile phone.  Unlocked cell phones are great because it opens doors of opportunities for you to discover a lot of things.

Unlocked cell phones give you the flexibility that you have been looking for a very long time.  If your cell phone is not locked to a specific telecom provider, you have the freedom to use multiple SIM cards in your unlocked cell phone but of course, you will not be able to use it all at the same time.  You will be able to use them one at a time.  If you happen to travel outside the United States then it is very important to use unlocked cell phones.  Once you arrive in your destination, the only thing that you need to do now is to look for a Prepaid SIM in the country where you are in and test it in your phone if you get a good signal.  Buying in to a network provider’s offered phone will keep you stuck to that phone and will not allow you to explore opportunities with other telecommunications companies.

Unlocked cell phones are provided by resellers or retailers online and offline.  You can even find one using your favorite search engine.  Mobile networks do not sell unlocked cell phones but independent resellers or retailers do.  Just look for them online and you will be able to find your favorite phone in no time.
